  When I die...
I want a cover band to jam "Free Bird" while the sprinklers are running and there is a paper mache bird flying over the audience on fire. I want it to be probably the single most funny and not planned event ever.

thank you Elizabethtown for your insights.

Why the post about death?

It's not a post so much about death as it is about the movie Elizabethtown. It has one of the funniest memorial service scenes I've ever seen. The combination of the unexpected and humor made me think that that is exactly the way I want it to be when I am gone.

No, I am not considering offing myself or anything. If you really want to understand, go out and rent the movie. It's a good viewer.

LOL JohnO, I think it wise to instruct everyone to watch this movie! An instant classic that really should lighten everyone's mood about death! ;)

Except if they have gone through it recently.

actually it might if you just watch it. It really speaks of what you posted on in the closing scenes. It really illustrates how peoples lives are to be celebrated, not mourned. Maybe you need to wait a little while but I highly suggest this movie.

Hey, glad you found Elizabethtown (the movie) amusing.
I am from Elizabethtown, Ky. Well, Hardin County, KY at large, really.
I am currently displaced and have been for about six years now. I miss Ky terribly. I have been working really hard on getting back south.
I know Ky can seem kind of back woods and boring sometimes but really, enjoy it. There are far worse things in the world than pristine countryside, friendly people, and simple lifestyles. Believe me, I grew up in a small town, hated it, couldn't wait to move away. Now, I've seen the alternative and I can't wait to get back.
